Social/ Emotional

  • For the child to accept parental separation

Physical

  • For the child to refine fine motor skills (i.e. thread small beads)
  • For the child to control manipulation of writing and drawing materials
  • For the child to attempt to do up clothes-buttons, zippers, sandals
  • For the child to gain awareness of his of her own body and rhythm through musical activities
  • For the child to negotiate, experience and attempt completion of obstacle course and climbing equipment
  • For the child to develop and extend a sense of balance and co-ordination when carrying out extended motor skills i.e. running, hopping, jumping

Self Help

  • For the child to take responsibility for his/ her own belongings
  • For the child to be aware of the benefits of exercise and nutrition
  • For the child to make and pack away their own bed
  • For the child to be self select their own lunch boxes
  • For the child to independently operate within the room i.e. toileting, dressing etc
  • For the child to put their own socks and shoes on (excluding laces)
