For the children to:

Cognitive
For the children to:

  • Experience a wide variety of creative art and craft activities
  • Begin to understand some spatial concepts e.g. in/ out, over/ under

  • Develop a sense of curiosity, experimentation and exploration
  • Attempt to count 1-5
  • Recognize basic colours and shapes

Language
For the children to:

  • Begin to use simple sentences
  • Speak clearly enough for adults to understand
  • Take part in conversations with other children

Physical
For the children to:

  • Begin to display fine motor co-ordination, i.e. thread large beads
  • Hold and manipulate various drawing utensils, i.e. fine crayons
  • Begin moving body with ease and control, i.e. jumping
  • Negotiate and experience obstacle courses and climbing equipment
  • Enjoy participation in music and movement experience

Self Help
For the children to:

  • Actively explore their environment and begin to make activity choices on their own
  • Toilet and wash hands, without assistance from adults
  • Look after own belongings
  • Self select from lunch boxes
  • Put own sunscreen on
  • Wash own hands and face after meals
